Dr Phillip Lung trained in Medicine at King's College London and achieved a BSc in Immunology and Cell Pathology at University College London with 1st class honours. He trained in Radiology at King's College Hospital and worked as an assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 where he introduced contrast enhanced ultrasound and faecal tagging for CTC at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

He was appointed as a Consultant Specialist Gastrointestinal Radiologist at St. Mark's Hospital in 2014, with particular expertise in hepatobiliary disease and gastrointestinal imaging. He is currently radiology lead for hepatobiliary and upper gastrointestinal cancer.

He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and his research is focused on state-of-the-art imaging techniques, using 3-dimensional modelling and printing to improve communication and collaboration between the patient, surgeon and radiologist. He has published a number of research papers on liver elastography, 3-dimensional modelling for pre-operative planning, abdominal and hiatus hernia surgery, and perianal fistula disease.
